Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 July 2026

Flitdrop is built to need as little of your data as possible. Transfers happen directly between your devices on your own Wi-Fi. There is no cloud, no account, and no server that receives your files, photos, texts or clipboard.

What we do not collect

Optional, anonymous usage data

Inside the app there is an opt-in setting (turned off by default) to help improve Flitdrop. If, and only if, you enable it, the app sends anonymous technical events: a random identifier generated locally on your device, the app version, the operating system, and event types such as "a transfer succeeded" or "a transfer failed". These events never contain the content of your files or clipboard, your name, your IP-based location, or any personal data. You can turn this off at any time in the settings, and it stays off unless you choose otherwise.

Website

This website uses privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics that do not identify you and do not require a cookie banner. It does not set advertising or tracking cookies.

Legal basis and retention

The optional, anonymous usage events are processed only on the basis of your explicit consent (the setting is off by default). They contain no personal data and are kept only in aggregate, for as long as needed to improve the app. You can withdraw your consent at any time by turning the setting off, after which no further events are sent.

Your rights (GDPR)

Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability over any personal data an organisation holds about you. Because Flitdrop holds no personal data about you, there is normally nothing to access, correct or delete. If you believe we hold data about you, contact us at [email protected] and we will reply within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL, cnil.fr).
